Solent Credit Union (SCU) is looking for one or two people to bring their experience in leadership or management to our board.  We are engaging in a development process that will see us making our service and products more relevant for our members and developing our current strategic plan.

What is the role?

As a member of the board you will be responsible with other members for the governance of the credit union.  We are looking for someone who is able to understand plans and consider alternatives, who can communicate clearly and can get on with other people. 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has leadership and/or management experience in the voluntary sector, a community group, a church, a business or other organisation or faith group.  We value people who know how an organisation ought to be run, and people who can participate in developing new ways to meet our present and future members’ needs.  

The position is suitable either for someone who is mid-career, looking to gain experience at board/executive level, or for someone who is retired or semi-retired. What is most important is that they can understand the objectives of the credit union and have time available to contribute towards its future.
