Solent Credit Union is looking for someone to oversee the development of relationships with the communities which we serve and develop strong links with other voluntary sector organisations in our area. This would involve keeping the board focused on the operating and funding environment within which SCU works, and advising on development of services which benefit the community and would qualify for grant funding.
What is the role?
The Director of Voluntary Sector Relationships will have responsibility for the following areas of the business
- Working with the Board to establish a new approach to relationships with the communities we serve
- Leading the development of ongoing relationships with other voluntary and public sector organisations who serve financially disadvantaged people
- Advising on development of services which benefit the community and would qualify for grant funding
- Monitoring changes (eg in benefits systems) and informing the board if changes in services, products or relationships might be advantageous
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who can work as part of that team and contribute towards the future success of the credit union. This is a small organisation run by volunteers, so directors are expected work actively in the role they take up.
We are looking for someone who has management experience in a voluntary sector organisation such as CAB or in a relevant public body, and who has an appreciation of the Third Sector and the operating and funding environment within which organisations work.
The position is suitable either for someone who is mid-career, looking to gain experience at board/executive level, or for someone who is retired or semi-retired. What is most important is that they can understand the objectives of the credit union and have time available to contribute towards its future.Download full details as PDF
