Danielle and Social Impact Danielle is carrying out a Social Impact Audit on Solent Credit Union
Members and our Volunteers are receiving emails and letters requesting they return a questionnaire.
Her remit includes developing a way of doing this that can be repeated and hopefully developed. She is concentrating on members and volunteers.

What is a Social Impact Audit A Credit Union exists to provide alternative and more “human” financial services to the mainstream sources. Do our savings accounts and loans yp our members improve their lives?
A social impact audit is a way of measuring, understanding, reporting and ultimately improving an organization’s social and ethical performance. Can we do better? |

Doug and our Loan Book The other student Doug. is looking at the way we offer and operate our loans with the objective of increasing the number of loans and the size of our loan book. He is doing mostly desk/net research to offer a change to our approach to loans. |

Getting to Grips with our Social Impact. May 2011 Solent Credit Union are providing opportunities for Final Year Business Management BSc Under Graduates to work with Solent Credit Union. One of the students will be carrying out a Social Impact Audit. This will help us become more effective at making that positive change with the people and to the communities where we work. Do our members savings have a positive social outcome? Do our loans really help the people who take them out? We will have a better idea about this and about many of our other activities once this study has been done. The bulk of the work at Solent Credit Union will be done during the Autumn and so early in 2012 we might find out just how good, or not, we really are. May 2011
