17/11/11 The collection point is moving to The Café at the Hinkler Public House and will open there on Thursday January 5th 2012. Pictured above is Pauline and Maureen, two of the collection team, outside the area where we will be. The Thornhill Collection Point has been squatting in one of the interview rooms at the Local Housing Office in Tatwin Crescent. We are there because our previous venue was knocked down for the redevelopment. We would like to return to the Natterbox when all the work has been completed but it seam that delays mean that they are now planning to re-open next August 2012 and so we still have a long wait. We have decided to move to the Café at the Hinkler. This was the Saloon Bar at the Hinkler Pub on Hinkler Road.
Because several people were not happy with the Housing Office as a location for the Collection Point. The members living on the Thornhill Estate were sent a letter asking for people’s thoughts and ideas about the collection Point Location and also the opening day and times. We received 10 responses and the table below is a summary of the responses.
Because of the drop in attendance at the collection point, we have decided to move. The new location will be at The Café at “The Hinkler” pub. We have decided to use the Christmas Holiday break to make the change. The present collection point at the Housing Office in Tatwin Crescent will open for the last time on 15th December. The new collection point will open at the Hinkler on 5th January. The opening times will be the same. 9:30 to 10:30. |
