9th December 2011 We have been working over the last year with Spectrum Western Challenge and Radian Housing Associations to bring a Solent Credit Union Branch to Lordshill. We recently ran a volunteer recruitment session with Southampton Voluntary Services at the Lordshill Community Centre. See Picture Right. The Community Centre have made it possible with the use of a room there. |

If You Want To Help We are still building our collection team so please get in touch if you are interested in joining in with us. We would like someone to oversee it and people to spend two hours once or twice a month to help members, take in savings, help people join and apply for loans. Developments for Lordshill 9/04/2011 Thanks to the support of The Spectrum Weston Challenge Housing Association, the Hampshire Community Forum have approved your application to run "Money Can be Fun" courses in Lordshill Southampton. These courses have been developed by Vicki Tongeman in collaboration with Coastal Credit Union. Coastal CU is our good friend and neighbour from Bournemouth and Poole. |
We are looking forward to close working relations with Spectrum and plan to offer collection points in locations inked with their Weston Challenge local housing surgeries in Lordshill.

Solent In Lordshill 10/10/11 SCU will be at the Lordshill Community Centre on Thursday 29th September from 9:30 to 12:00 during the Radian and Western Challenge Housing Surgeries are running. On Thursday 15th, after a leafleting and poster campaign, we had a drop in session together with Southampton Voluntary Services, to get a group together so that we can start a branch in Lordhill. |

It was a very successful event and we have a good strong team. They will need training and support. Initially we will be there for the Radian and Western Challenge Surgeries. They are held on Thursdays, once per month between 9:30 am and 12:00 noon. The next three are on 29th September, 27th October and 24th November. We are however also looking to open the branch at least once per week but have not decided the best time, day and place yet. We would like to hear from anyone with thoughts about this.
